Sun-dried
An Anhinga poses on a snag, wings half-spread to dry in the sun, at Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Anhingas are long-necked, long-tailed swimmers in southeastern swamps. They can vary their buoyancy in water, sometimes swimming with only the head and neck above water (earning it the nickname of 'Snakebird').
