First Site

A mix of human shapes (one with toes) and animals (including a snake?) spread across a petroglyph panel at First Site, near the western end of Nine Mile Canyon. Because vandalism of these sites began with 19th-century Anglo explorers and prospectors, it is not clear whether the name scratched at upper right was done in 1881 or 1981.
