Temple Mirror

Spotlighted by the rising sun, the West Temple glows intensely, framed by the Pine Creek Bridge. This shot was a bit of an adventure, since I did not bring waders and the only good composition was from the middle of a stagnant pool in the creek. We purchased a box of large trash bags, and in the darkness before dawn I drew two trash bags over each foot and tied the drawstrings to my belt. Wading into the pool, I found the right composition and waited for sunrise. To my dismay, after a few minutes I felt my feet slowly getting wet. The cold, smelly water was seeping through two layers of plastic and both feet were soon soaked. When I emerged from the pool, I was dragging about a gallon of water in each of the plastic bags. But the image made it all worthwhile!
