Autumn Splendor

Autumn brings wonderful golds and yellows to the few plants which have managed to hang on through seasonal floods of the Virgin River in The Narrows.
Narrows Notes: Despite the treacherous footing, I only fell twice. Once was on a sandbar, when my foot slid off a rock and I watched myself fall in agonizingly slow motion toward the rocks, camera and tripod in hand, despite exerting every bit of strength to stop the fall. Fortunately the clunk on the rocks did no permanent damage to the camera, and nothing to me that wouldn't heal. The second fall was on the way downstream, when I slipped on an underwater rock in a deeper channel and fell against the canyon wall; fortunately the only damage was a ripped nail and some scrapes.
