Many of the large boulders at Cocoraque Butte make a bell-like tone when struck with another rock. A 2016 study counted 83 "bell rocks" on the hills in the area, many adorned with rock art. Tonal quality for each bell rock is affected by its dimensions, geometry, and whether it is suspended in some fashion (such as spanning two other boulders). The rock in this image appears to have strike marks at upper right indicating that it may be a bell rock. The image with concentric circles and rays and a dot in the center is believed to be an abstract flower image.
