The "Tommyknocker" and "Tom-Tom Tower" formations are lit by the rising sun in the Valley of the Gods. This enchanting area is known as a Miniature Monument Valley, with many beautiful, Cedar Mesa, sandstone monoliths, pinnacles and other geological features. These sandstone sentinels were eroded by wind and water over eons of time. A 17-mile loop road carries visitors through the valley, with numerous side roads to car-camp sites.
