Namesake

A slope of bright yellow slickrock streaked with white and red leads up toward Yellow Rock, making it easy to understand how this feature acquired its name. The hike to Yellow Rock does not have a clearly-defined trail. First, the hiker has to find a way through tall brush to reach a sandy wash. On the other side of the wash is an extremely steep trail of sorts to the mesa top, and then route-finding is required to reach the slickrock around Yellow Rock. From there, one can hike in different directions to reach various areas of interest.
