Water pours from a mill race or flume bringing creek water from Mingus Creek to Mingus Mill, a large, water-powered grist mill for grinding corn near Cherokee, North Carolina. This mill is normally open to visitors but has now been closed due to deterioration in the structure and lack of funding for repairs.
