Hunts View
Afternoon sun bakes sandstone formations north of Hunts Mesa. Part of Valley Drive is visible at upper left. Hunts Mesa is an extraordinary place within the Monument Valley Tribal Park. It requires some planning to visit, since the drive (in a guide's SUV) is 2+ hours each way. This is a 1950s route that was carved out of the Mesa by uranium mining crews to extract the ore from the tops of the Mesa.
