Jardin des Tuileries
From the Louvre, one can walk directly into the Jardin des Tuileries, established in the 16th century by Queen Catherine de Medicis, then enlarged and enhanced by later monarchs. The gardens stretch for more than a half-mile along the right bank of the Seine, ending at Place de la Concorde.
