Lonely Perch
A lonely tree perches on a high ledge in Choprock Canyon. We struggled to find a good path through thick brush up the Escalante River toward Choprock from our Fence Canyon campsite. About halfway we realized that, from Fence Canyon, we should have first hiked directly east toward the cliffs. Away from the river we found open grassland and a trail north along the cliffs.
