Slices of harder sandstone emerge from the walls of Spooky Canyon. My favorite guidebook advised hiking Spooky Canyon before Peekaboo (hiking counterclockwise), but we couldn't see how that was practical because Spooky had several difficult drops which would be quite challenging to traverse if hiking up the canyon.
