Kaolin Whirlpool
Water and sand continually sculpt the sandstone in Kaolin Wash. Bands of pink and violet add to the sense of motion as lines flow throughout this composition. Kaolin Wash runs east toward Fire Wave from Dip5 on Scenic Drive. (When Scenic Drive dips into a wash, the road changes to concrete to prevent destruction from flash floods. Each of these dips is numbered from 1 to 5.)
