Sable South
Lake Michigan stretches south from Big Sable Point, where the 112-foot Big Sable Point Light tower was built in 1867 of yellow cream brick. After the brick deteriorated, it was covered with boiler plate. The site experiences constant erosion, requiring a perpetually expensive battle to keep the foundation stable.
