Arriving at my inn at Cannon Beach, I was startled to see numerous, dark-colored rabbits having a quiet evening nosh. They were quite tame. The inn's receptionist explained that they are feral rabbits descended from pets which someone released years ago at Cannon Beach. The local NPR station ran a 2018 story about how the rabbits have proliferated to the point where they are quite a nuisance, but because they are feral (neither wild nor domesticated), no state or local agency will help.
